Overview

Module 3 discusses health behaviors and preventive measures that can reduce the risk, severity, and impact of tooth decay in children. The module provides information about when a child should first visit the dentist. It also discusses fluorides (community fluoridated water, fluoridated toothpaste, fluoride varnish, silver diamine fluoride (SDF), fluoride supplements) and xylitol.
